Costco Natrel Egg Nog Review

Last week on the blog I reviewed the Costco Toblerone Bar, Costco Macadamia Clusters, Costco Sticky Toffee Pudding, Costco Alpine Spiced Apple Drink and Costco Kirkland Signature Raspberry Crumble Cookies. I also posted a Youtube video review for the Costco Kirkland Signature Cookies and Costco Kirkland Signature Raspberry Crumble Cookies

It’s almost Christmas so today I’m reviewing the Costco Natrel Egg Nog! I picked up a carton of this egg nog just this week to enjoy because it was on sale.

The regular price is $5.49 Canadian but I got my 2L container for $1.50 off which is really reasonable!

The best before date listed on my egg nog is almost two weeks from the date I purchased it which gives me lots of time to enjoy it over Christmas. The egg nog needs to be kept refrigerated. You can use egg nog in a variety of ways! I love frothing some and making a latte at home, using it for baking or in whipped cream and just enjoying cold over ice. By buying Natrel egg nog from Costco I’m also supporting a Canadian company! Egg nog is a thick beverage so I recommend serving it over lots of ice!

Egg nog is heavy in calories, fat and high in sugar! A 1/2 cup serving of egg nog is 160 calories, eight grams of fat, 18 grams of carbohydrates, zero grams of fiber, 18 grams of sugar, four grams of protein and 50 mg of sodium. I usually always have egg nog Christmas day in the afternoon and I often feeling like I’m having my dessert before dinner! The ingredients list is pretty straight forward, milk, cream, sugar, egg yolks and spices.

If you’ve never had egg nog before it’s like a heavy, sweet, creamy beverage with a hint of egg yolk flavor. It’s really decadent and tastes like a liquid dessert, almost like a milkshake! The Costco Natrel Egg Nog has a hint of spiciness to it, which I like. I always add a pinch of nutmeg to my egg nog as well. This egg nog is quite smooth and delicious! It’s not as thick as some egg nog I’ve had in the past which I also like.

Cost: 10/10

Convenience: 10/10

Nutrition: 0/10

Taste: 9/10 (if you know you like egg nog this is a good one to purchase)

  1. Too sweet. Maybe it depends on the type of eggnog, but after freezing, the eggnog tastes awful and just doesn’t have the same texture. Not recommended.

  2. bought 3 of these… gulp. it is delicious ( though a bit sweeter than other eggnogs I have had before) I never knew that one could freeze eggnog. Will definately be going to do that this year.

  3. I have tried this eggnog and it is delicious.
You can freeze eggnog, and just let it thaw completely before using. It makes a nice treat during the cold winter months.
